We bring a full-service bar, creating curated beverage experiences for your guests. Raised in the Bay Area, Clay has been exposed to a melting pot of ingredients, spices, and flavors that feed his signature drinks and crafting expertise. His wife, who is Punjabi, has broadened that inspiration further — together they’ve catered years of Diwali celebrations and Indian wedding events, inspiring a line of Indian-influenced cocktails.
Bar Viaggio is a family-owned and operated business based in the Bay Area, led by Clay Bernard. Clay spent six years in a microbiology lab, micro-pipetting — work that taught him speed and precision. He split his time in the lab with working in restaurants and bars, eventually falling in love with bartending and less with being isolated under fluorescent lab lights, but he realized that the same attention to detail of micro-pipetting translated directly into crafting drinks. From there he worked his way through different styles of bars and restaurants across the California coast, opening new concepts and collecting all the skills he could along the way.
Inspiration soon came from the food and beverage scenes in Florence, Italy — an intimate, carefully crafted service experience that wasn’t over-experimental, but built on quality ingredients used with intention and care, while staying present with the guest in front of you. From that, Bar Viaggio was born — “Viaggio” translating to journey.
